Welcome

In one of those strange juxtapositions of life last week I chaired BPE2008 in Amsterdam and then signed in for the launch of HerculesX in Texas. The former is one of Europes leading conferences, hosted annually by IQPC in a splendid hotel fitting the calibre of the presentations, discussion and networking. A major challenge discussed by all was the credit squeeze and its impact on all of us including cost reduction, efficiency, effectiveness and customer expectations. Contrasting that with the HerculesX launch and the elegant simplicity of its operation made me want shout from the roof tops - "look here, this solves all your problems!".

There are those people who believe that for anything to be successful it must be difficult and complex.I was reminded of this when reading some recent reviews of Richard Bransons excellent short read - Screw it - Let's Do it book (buy here) when apparently well educated and experienced people dissed the book because it was' too simple' and childish. Wake up and smell the coffee! We have collectively through the industrial and Information Age surrounded ourselves with rules....
